Hey, I'm Ryan!

I enjoy getting outside in the PNW with my family and this is a publication all about no-nonsense outdoor gear reviews.

I'm a dad of four based in the Portland, Oregon area. When I'm not working as a web developer, you'll find me hiking trails with my kids, golfing, skiing, or figuring out which gear actually holds up to real-world family use.

I started this site because I got tired of gear reviews that read like marketing copy. I write about what I actually own and use - the good, the bad, and the "it's fine but not worth the price." No sponsorships, no affiliate pressure, just honest takes from someone who'd rather spend money on experiences than replace gear that didn't deliver.
